Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　故事背景发生在抗日战争时期，主角郭东是一名兽医，他的妻儿惨遭日本兵杀害，从此躲到了草原边陲的一个小镇上，过着惶惶不可终日的生活。郭东的自暴自弃使得他与当地人产生许多矛盾。就在此时，一名蒙古族孕妇的生命危在旦夕，众人无奈之下求助郭东，郭东在新生命的洗礼和蒙古族战士的感染下，重新明白了"英雄"的意义，完成了自我救赎。

　　麦道梅（曾志伟 饰）人如其名，一生历经坎坷无数，去内衣厂工作就连累企业业绩直线下滑，谈女朋友就被抛弃，连累的三十多岁的家姐至今未嫁。无奈的姐姐拿出了家传的玉镯赠与一事无成的麦道梅，希望帮他转运，抑郁的麦道梅酒后驾车，被人撞下高坡，迷迷糊糊见到了牛头马面，此二鬼卒告知麦道梅阳寿未尽，在王百万、包黛丽、石神三人身亡之后即是他麦道梅之死期……清醒过来的麦道梅马上遇上了被撕票的富翁王百万，而石神便是绑架王百万的案犯之一，而包黛丽则是石神的女友，为了自救，麦道梅试图保护包黛丽和石神，因此卷入了这起绑架案，而石神的妹妹石女（钟楚红 饰）更是令麦道梅心动。未知麦道梅如何自救，又怎样赢得石女芳心？

 夜色沉沉的东京新宿站，劳碌一天的人们依旧行色匆匆，仿佛从不知停歇的工蜂。然而却有一群正处在青春期的女孩绽放着无忧无虑的笑容。她们身穿着不同款式的校服，似乎早已约好一般同时来到这里，女孩们在月台前一字排开，手拉手齐齐跳向飞驰而来的列车。一时间血光四溅，54个鲜活的生命瞬间消失。 这一事件轰动全国，与此同时类似集体自杀的事件愈演愈烈，甚至连调查此案的警官黑田敏春（石橋凌 饰）及其家人也受到波及。黑田的搭档涉泽健次（永瀬正敏 饰）通过不懈的调查，发现一连串的自杀事件都和一个名为“自杀俱乐部”的网站有关。事件的真相究竟如何？惨剧最终能否终止？
