好像一切都很糟糕
Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 没钱没爱还没心没肺的马腾（林更新 饰）人近中年一事无成，是旁人眼里公认的“废柴”！钢厂退休骨干老林（李幼斌 饰）遵守铁打的纪律活了一辈子本该安享晚年，身体和心理却双双“亮起红灯”！本无生活交集的两人因为一场歪打正着的护工面试相遇，展开了一段啼笑皆非的有趣互救。老林为求解脱，将“协助自杀”的希望寄托在这个不靠谱的护工身上。马腾虽然想赚钱完成女儿的心愿，但无胆害命，只能发挥自己的乐观心态在日常中提供情绪价值给老林。二人在一段特殊的旅途中建立起生死友谊，于病痛与死亡的阴影里找到了活下去的小小微光，携手大胆迎接未知的生活。
